Back to more serious (maybe) matters:
I think I would make a good moderator for the new TBG page on scratch because:
I'm on a lot- Nah TON fits the description.
Well... Hmm I only spend most my time in the forums.
When i'm in the forums I'm always RPGing or Playing other people's games
Hmm... well I guess I would say i've been on scratch for 5 months; But i do have a account I started more than 1 years ago (True) so i've seen scratch long.
My whole life is wasted in the TBG, Why not I waste it as a mod and help people also?
Like 3000 of my posts are from the TBG (lol XD)

Another reason:
I have had Moderator experience on a site called "playcrafter". They have a chatroom AND forums. I do know how hard it is, especially for a chatroom that goes on 24/7/52. I do handle the forums ever so often there but I was put on Chat duty.

The Scratch Team is going to make the website, I don't think they will use a different one.

I don't even think it was meant to be an election at the start o.o just something to see who would want to help moderate the new forums.

Exactly why I'm not entering. So many people are, some of those people have better credentials than I do, and I don't really care about text-based games anymore.

It's not for popularity at all, but for who is most fit for being a mod. See my post right above your one.

I would like to be a mod for the new website because i am kind and fair. I am on scratch at least once a day. i will not be bias, or take advantage of my power. I am willing to help the scratch.
Thanks -njf

I doubt that you can become a moderator just by saying, "I wanna be a mod!" You need to be experienced, have good grammar, be helpful, nice, and use all the forums equally. It also helps to have been around for months.

The phrase "good grammar" is actually INCORRECT grammar. Kind of ironic. =/

A lot of people want to be moderators... so I'm quite sure that some people have overlooked some things...

You have to visit the website each day (hopefully more than once).
You have to visit all of the topics and skim through them (you might get away with not every topic, but still...).
You have to be polite.
You have to help others when they need it (and when they might not need it, of course!).
You have to pay attention to the reports.
You have to use your common sense.
And finally, you must use your power for good and not evil.

It takes plenty of work to be a moderator. It isn't very easy.

Just a reminder...

I would add my own points to that list...  smile  I think a moderator should:

-be able to logically explain their decisions (one of the most important factors, which, as I noticed, is often overlooked)
-be able to take on a neutral position when needed (I should say that it is needed quite often xP)
-be familiar with the goals and intentions of the Scratch Team (also overlooked)
-not be too impulsive
-a TBG mod should be active in TBG

A moderator should also be aware that they might have to give up something for the sake of moderation. For example, moderators should be careful when voicing their opinion, and when they do, they should generally base their opinion on the Terms of Use and the goals of the Lifelong Kindergarten group.

For this reason, you might not get as much communication as you might have wanted, and you should be ready to face that.

Btw this is just my opinion, so feel free to disagree or anything. ^^

Yay! More help (especially from a moderator!)! Yay!

Yes, people should be able to explain things nicely. Otherwise, it'll go crazy... and you won't be as effective.
Yes, often you have to be neutral (such as those contraversal topics). I've seen you act very innocent in one... congratulations!
How neccessary. You must cooperate with the Scratch Team and fellow moderators, or you die! (exaggerated, of course).
Yes, you don't want to be like "You idiot! How dare you act like that! I'll have you ---------------------------------------------------!" It's pathetic.
Oops! I thought I put that in... *blushes*

Added!
