This is just a reminder and notice to you all. You may be wondering why, so here's the story:
The story...
One day, people began making games in this forum. They were very popular, but the forum began to be cluttered. So a new forum was created, and it was a hit!
The games were very popular. Too popular, in a way... eventually, it was suggested that it was removed. A large argument started, but the Scratch Team and Forum Moderators agreed: it would be removed.
A notice was put up in that forum, announcing its closing in a week's time. And to avoid games in this forum, there's a thread that you're reading right now.
You may be wondering what happens to games. Well, the forum moderators come along and close them. The same applies to chatrooms.
Don't panic if you want games! Google Text-Based-Games, and find a site to play on. You can still use the Scratch Forums as well.

I've already seen a topic in here. It was silly: "Since the Text-Based Games will be gone, why not start to post games in here?". This is ridiculous.
1. The Text-Based Games still exist.
2. Whatever made you think you were allowed to post games in Inspiration and More? Don't you know it's not allowed?

And the janitors were working overtime for weeks.
But anyway, this thread is supposed to be serious. Because once the Text-Based-Games are deleted, games might crop up if we don't remind people.

Okay, that's funny, but please! This thread is supposed to be a notice to people. But of course, I'm very thankful for you to bump this up...

Do the newbies (to Scratch or the forums) know itºs not allowed? Nope. And anyways I think we'll see many people posting here mistakenly in the future.

I am really hoping that we don't see tons of TBGs show up in I&M. That will get extremely annoying. From this, we'll see who the real scratchers are, and who are the ones who only joined for the games.

That's true man, but I don't think anyone joined Scratch for the games but that they stayed for the games.

Well, we don't really know, maybe RobotKitty and other people who only posted in the TBGs might have only joined for that, although we don't really know their reasons.

I'd like it to, but it's not at the moment... should we bump it to keep it noticed? I'm against the bump chains, but hopefully we could be lenient on this case.

Yes, it should be stickied. I'll bump it up if we have to.

At this point, I don't think a sticky will be needed yet, if at all - most already get the point that TBGs are not allowed in 'Inspiration and More', and besides, TBGs is still currently open. If and when the time comes for a no-TBGs sticky thread, then this will probably be stickied.

Story of the Unfortunate Scratch Website Forums:
Once upon a time, the Scratch Website Forums was a happy and peaceful place. Then came along a guy named johnathan, whose idea of deleting Text-based Games, which was no thought through, was put into action. Now, how this usually level-headed person suddenly got this terrible idea is no surprise to me. Lots of people get ideas they think are righteous and discover they are wrong, for example, Hitler, who thought Jews were evil, which they aren't. Moving on, the Scratch Forums started to fall apart. The Scratch team had to delete everything in I&M once to control the amount of illegal text-based games flooding in. Eventually, they just got rid of it. Suddenly, text-based games and disscussion topics were everywhere, so the Sscratch team just deleted the Scratch Forums and everyone lived happily ever after. The end.
Why don't they just delete it already? I want to see if any of my predictions are correct!

That's not a very nice thing to say! See if someone rewrites it for their point of view!

What are you saying?! Are you saying that Jonathanpb's idea was wrong? Then tell me this: Why did the Scratch Team agree???

Let's not go blaming the wrong people for the demise of the Text-based Games, yes Jonathonpb championed the idea in the forums. However, the Forum Moderators had been holding discussions on the topic weeks before and were already pretty much in agreement that changes needed to be made. And ultimately it was the Scratch Team's decision.
Comparing the removal of the TBGs to the attempted extermination of the Jews by Hitler seems just a bit melodramatic.
