Actually, you are allowed to makeown forums, but for everybody who wants to make a TBG for Scratch but outside of the Scratch website, sorry Scratch's own is bound to be more popular.
The official site should be made by the Scratch Team. And since it's probably going to be made, why make another site? The Text-Based Games still exist, you know.

I doubt that you can become a moderator just by saying, "I wanna be a mod!"
You need to be experienced, have good grammar, be helpful, nice, and use all the forums equally. It also helps to have been around for months.

If you want to be a moderator in the new website, I suggest this:

You should visit every day and actually moderate.
You should be kind and helpful.
You would use your power wisely.
You are actually determined to be helpful to the website.

Make your 'entry form' good. That'll be a major issue about if they pick you or not.

I am partly looking smile I'll be a lot more active again too (finnaly have more internet time again smile .

I would also consider the position, because although I don't post a lot each day, I tend to lurk the forums for quite a while (around 4-8 hours on a normal day o.o) and I could direct some of that time towards the new forum smile

I also know what is a good and bad post/thread smile and I have semi-expierience.
And while I don't 'love' the TBG's to the point i'd pay £6billion to save them, I would like to help keep them under control.

Well, I would love to be a moderator on the new website! Even though sometimes I make mistakes, I can be very helpful and make sure people don't get into trouble. I only stay in INSPIRATIONN and TBG most of the time, so Im used to them A LOT Ive probably gotten 1300 posts in these forums, out of 1544... By the way, I GIVE MY VOTE TO THE WHIZ! Anyone want to vouch for me?
