I suppose you're right... the only solutions I can think of are to:

The project has to have 20+ loveits.
The project has to be a week old or more.

Even though it's a problem, I'd rather have the solutions than the age to loveits ratio. Some projects take time to get loved, while others take no time at all.

Of course. Projects that are already popular have no need to be put on the front page again, unless the curators want to choose it.

oddly enough, I was thinking about this. It would have to be within a certain age range though, and more than one view one love-it...

would not work for ratio of views to love its, because if one person views it and loves it, then it would be 1:1.

also, demographics of age, gender, etc. I don't think that would be so great as based on the project type, if you want variety. Sometimes I want an extended list of the Top Viewed and Top Loved lately projects, because going to the top viewed and top loved ever list just gives the same thing every time and the lately projects are on like the 1500th page and spread several pages apart.

Should something be changed in the "Propose projects to get featured" topic? One of the rules is "No more than five love its", which is quite silly in some cases. It is very easy to get over five love its and not have the project popular at all. It could even take a year! Do you think that that project should be allowed to get on the front page? It isn't fair... if anything, it should say "The project can not have more than five love its if the project is under two weeks old". That's better. But think about it... only five people need to view the project for it to get five love its. And that can actually happen only in the Newest Projects! We have to draw the line somewhere...
