Movie/Video Player
For later versions of Scratch, why not try putting in a movie player? Just like there are sounds, you cold put another tab for videos and do scripts like "Play video", "Pause Video" ,"Stop Video" ect. This might be fun, as people could take movies, or clips and edit in whatever they want to it using scratch,like having thought bubbles appear over the characters heads to make them think funny things.

The thing is, thats not what scratch was made for. Its not made for videos. Its for making animations, interactive art, games, and more. Scratch isn't some animation studio. People have taken advantage of scratch like this, but don't get too hung up on it.
