Arg... Another time i have gotten mad.

The same result as when i typed the triple page long gallerie only to  have it delete every thing and say "new name", was "ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG"!  When i was doing scratch i was doing a whole game and then i go to eat and of course i exit (yes im very dumb when im hungry) withought saving. it should say, "would you like to save changes?"
Because then iw ouldnt have to start all over again.

Re: Arg... Another time i have gotten mad.

it would help a lot if there was a "do you want to save your project?" button that pops up before you close out of scratch.

There is one of those on my computer. It asks some of the time. It says: Do you want to save before you exit? Yes. No. Cancel.

Get-a-Mac.
It's graphically better and safer. You can't get a virus on a Mac (theorectically impossible).

Still. A Mac is better. Nevermind. Let's not get off topic.

Re: Arg... Another time i have gotten mad.

I agree that Scratch should always ask if you want to save.  Luckily, I too have a Mac and so see that save question when quitting.  The Tech Club I run at school has old Windows 98 machines, and I do have to remind kids to save.

Incidentally, viruses are not "theoretically impossible" for Macs.  There have even been some written in the past.  It is just somewhat harder to find security holes on the Mac and less rewarding to hackers (since there fewer macs to exploit).  Apple is also somewhat quicker on security patches than Microsoft, getting the patches out usually before any exploits appear.

Re: Arg... Another time i have gotten mad.

"Temp" means "Temporary files". The directory is either:
C:\Temp
or
C:\Documents and Settings\--user--\Local Settings\Temp

Re: Arg... Another time i have gotten mad.

"Temp" is where a project will end up if you choose "Open" instead of "save" when downloading a project from the Scratch website.

Re: Arg... Another time i have gotten mad.

See, on Macs, it says every time you quit, "Would you like to save your project?" but I guess not on a PC.

That's actually the one real difference between the windows version and the mac version of Scratch I'm aware of. It would be so nice and useful to have the windows version assert that the current Scratch project has been saved before quitting (The only Squeak based application that implements this feature seems to be Plopp, it would be interesting to find out what they did to the VM to get that functionality).
