Re: Emerald

But since scratch involves multiple scripts and other languages only use 1 large script, how would the script display work?

Re: Emerald

FTP now setup. (Yay!!!)

User: emeraldteam
Password: Diamond1

(case sensitive)

Windows Tutorial
1.Download the Program WinSCP
2.
http://gershmer.net/ftpwin.png

Mac Tutorial
1.Download the Program CyberDuck
2.
http://gershmer.net/ftpmac.png

(note that the Mac setup may be wrong)

When you log on, you will be in the directory http://gershmer.net/emeraldteam
Your client will forbid you to go up to http://gershmer.net/
You, however, can make subfolders.
To make sure your files work:
1.Open a web browser
2.Type in http://gershmer.net/emeraldteam DO NOT PRESS ENTER YET
3.Continue typing the path of your file from there (ex. /emerald.py, /samples/1.emrld, etc)

Re: Emerald

Marky: It's harder than you think (I swear I said that at least 4 times already).

Stick: It will be better in the future.  smile

Gersh: I use WinSCP for my website! So I could work on the website. ^.^ If that's okay... *Will just get the webpage done or just make a "User" page* lol

Edit: I just changed the main page on Emerald Team!  big_smile  Looks like this:

vv

Emerald Team <-- It's in big letters
1. Magnie
2. Filo
3. Marky
4. Gershmer

We are looking for helpers with Python Programming Skills!
(Edited by Magnie)

^^

That's all. ^.^ So far...

Btw, if you want to help with the pages, go here: http://www.make-a-web-site.com/ it helps quite a lot for beginners. (I still use it now)

Re: Emerald

Good to hear about FTP. If anybody knows free .NET hosting with MS SQL support (know that's hard), I can do it. I know C#, JScript & HTML well enough to make a dynamic ASP.NET site for you.

I'm making Diamond interface right now. Do you like Office 2007 ribbons?

Why not just use freewebs, they have an ability to right html into it with their website builder interface.

Re: Emerald

Filo: Is there a way to add graphics with Diamond to Emerald? @Coolstuff If it's possible, make that happen then it will be easier!  big_smile

Coolstuff: Why not?? Then we won't get Emerald any further into development.  sad

Marky: Having a personal website almost like Gersh is quite useful, and his site allows us to upload files unlike Webs I have a website on webs to but it's pretty much useless.

Magnie wasn't very clear on this, but s/he has started updating things on http://gershmer.net/emeraldteam.

BTW, if you guys would prefer something like "emerald.gershmer.net" that could be arranged.

Haha. Emerald.net is taken. Type it in to your web browser. It automatically brings up a download popup for dfsgndfjlgndlg(or something like that).part. It's nothing.

I'll setup the subdomain tomorrow.

(BTW, if you're willing to pay for it, emeraldteam.net is availible -- for a reasonable price, but GoDaddy is having a sale that apparently lasts the rest of eternity on .info domains. emeraldteam.info is only 89 cents.)

Re: Emerald

*Can't pay* Otherwise I'd have lots of stuff. I think gershmer.net/Emerald is just fine.  smile  Or if you rename it to something like ArrowRiver.net or ArrowRiver.info it wouldn't really matter. ( The "gershmer" part seems so... self based.  tongue  )

Re: Emerald

Learn this. it should definitely help with making a GUI. I don't know if Tkinter comes with python, but it comes with my computer.

PS: I'm trying to learn Tkinter as fast as I can.

Why not just use freewebs, they have an ability to right html into it with their website builder interface.

Freewebs generates HTML that is almost impossible to understand for browsers (except IE6 maybe). I can give you other possibility: t35.com
(the address would look like emerald.t35.com). They have 1Mb file limit and no database, but there is PHP, so I can try to merge some of these PHP scripts... Nah. I was thinking... Wait... *is off to register emerald blog at wordpress*
Ok. There is nothing there yet, but then I'll set some content up (no time now).

Floppy: Welcome to the Club!  lol  You can be are graphics programmer!

Filo: OooO Could we have pass or I? I could post updates from time to time. ^.^

Btw Marky: Gersh's site is real, in fact, that's what you start with, those other hosters just do all the work for you.

All: I'll go make a Emerald Forum as I think we're going off with this topic.

Re: Emerald

OK, I'll link the forum on the blog ASAP. As for posting on the blog, just make accounts there and I'll grant you access for posting. Also, make a closed forum section for developers so we can discuss things in more quiet place than here.
Send me some ideas for the blog. Of course I don't have much time, but I found a good library with wireless internet so I'll be up more often. I'll try to set the blog up and running today. PS... Do you like the theme I selected?
