What we're saying is different.
What us twenty-one people have realized is that the forums don't need the Text-Based-Games. It takes up space, which 1. slows up the forums, and 2. costs the Scratch Team more money.
We have realized that there is simply no need. It's extra cost, and the forums would benefit without it. It's there to help people, not to be a forum that people can use for fun.
If you support Text-Based-Games, why not take your own advice and find a different forum? There will be some out there that support forum games.1. You obviously have no idea how the internet works. Each Forum is a different page, and unless you have a milion internet tabs of every single forum on Scratch, it doesn't take up any more space than if it was deleted.
2. You obviously have no idea how the internet works. The MIT owns their own website. They have their own server. They don't pay someone else to do it, that would be stupid.
You don't get how the internet works. They don't pay someone else to do it... they pay for their website.

You are perfectly allowed to have your own opinion.
You say that it's a bad idea... can you explain why that is? It's always better to explain instead of just saying that it's a bad idea.
martianshark, we can't just go and look at other forums. We want the Scratch Forums instead of any old forum (since the Scratch Forums are about Scratch), of course.
It makes more sense for you to go to a different forum. We use the Scratch Forums because we want to discuss Scratch. You use the Scratch Forums because it has games. And which makes more sense (and I actually want an answer from you guys): moving the Scratch stuff out of the Scratch Forums, or moving the games out?I'm getting tired of argueing with you. You don't get it. The forum games are good. They don't really help the scratch community, but would it help the scratch community if it was deleted? No, it wouldn't. Nothing would change exept for trouble, quitting, complaining, spamming, and more.
I am tired too.
You don't get it. Yes, the games are good.
If having the Text-Based Games or not doesn't make a difference (according to your views), which is better: having a useless forum, or not having one (the chaos will die down very quickly).
If people quit, we would be left with users [i[who actually care about the Scratch Community.[/i] I can't wait.

As andresmh said, the Scratch Team is discussing about the issue of what to do about Text-Based Games with collaboration of the moderators. There have been discussion about both the benefits and detriments associated with the text-based games. Hopefully, a solution can be determined soon, and the text-based games issue can come to a close.
Yay! I'm glad that Andrés and the rest of the group (including you, ) are discussing this.
Are you thinking about the three questions? I think that that's the best way to decide.
The three questions:
Does the Text-Based Games belong in the Scratch Forums?
Is it part of Scratch?
Does it help the Scratch Community?
I think that's the best way.
For more information, please check out my topic An important question about the Text-Based Games (ignore the fact that it's a new topic). I realize that it should say "Important questions" instead, but too late to change it now.

Yes, part of the discussion involves the issues that you have put forth in your three questions. As stated before, we have been looking at how text-based games have been beneficial and have been detrimental to the Scratch community in order to come up with an appropriate solution. As andresmh put it best: "stay tuned"

Views just means how many times someone has seen the page. I could refresh the page 100 times, and it would get 100 more views.
As for this issue, honestly, I really don't care. I never go on the TBG forum, I think I posted there like, once...? No, it doesn't help the scratch community. Yes, it's a waste of time for the mods. I wish there were robot mods. That would make everything better.

It's not useless, and the chaos would stay for a very long time. It would be at least a couple of months for people to start calming down. What makes you think it would die down in a couple of days!? And why do you care about people quitting? Quitting isn't good. We are supposed to be freindly and welcoming. Do you think this is going to set a good example?

Will it help the Scratch community if it was deleted? Of course! All the forum effort would go into helping other users.
Does it matter if there's an off topic thread? No, provided it's clear that it's for the people who only use the forums for the games.

Why can't you stick with one thread? It'd be easier to see everything.

i have a serious point that will effect most of you Dragons! if you take away the insperation and more were are people going to post there dragon eggs? if people don't have the insperation and more fourm we are going to be seing a lot of dead eggs in peoples sigs and posts and then you would really see alot of spam about dragon eggs everywhere else! so just think of that!
and i have seen alot of people who are posting on this fourm in the dragon egg hatchery, such as cheddarirl who said she loved the dragons!

Um... Ok,
1. If you post a lot on regular topics, every time someone goes to the page of a topic that you posted on, each of your eggs/hatchlings will get a view.
2. Who really cares that much? If it dies, get over it. It's virtual.
500th post! Yah

Now, Chirschb and I (that I've seen) have been the only people to actually suggest that the people go to a different forum! The Random Forum would be perfect for all those things. Why not just go there? If you delete TBG the server will go faster and there will be less problems.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh and Jonathanpb, like I said b4, could you add me to the list?

Calm down, Mini_mi, no one ever said 'Inspiration and More' is going away. It is only the Text-Based Games that are going to be affected by whatever solution the Scratch Team will implement. To my knowledge, the 'Inspiration and More' forums are staying (and so are the oh-so-colorful dragon and dragon eggs threads).
Offline
The reason I oppose this idea of deleting the TBG: it's going to be a big fail. Maybe you should delete Inspiration and More (IaM) as well. It doesn't have anything to do with Scratch currently, except for my Okami for Scratch topic, I believe. Hey! I just had the greatest idea ever! Delete IaM and TBG and make a Scratch Ideas forum! Who's with me?
If none of you are going to be with me, then your idea of deleting TBG is ridiculous.

I hate the fact you suggested this, but i agree with the third option. Just don't let the Forum Games add to your post count. It's what Dragon Cave does too, and i got like 300 posts.
Offline
I don't think they can do that. There are limits to what they can do with a PunBB forum that there isn't in a PHBB forum (or do I have the names mixed up).
