I think we should vote if a prodject should be featured; like, a button on the prodject page like ' Should it be Featured?'. That would be fare!

That would make it essentially the same as the "Love it" button.

Mayhem is right.
Currently, featured projects are projects with a very creative idea, smart scripting, etc. It's good to feature those on a home page. Featured projects are *selected by the Scratch team*
Top loved is selected by *users*, they are "loved" because (most likely) they are fun to play.
It is good to have "fun" projects on the home page, but the "featured" are still required to learn people Scratching.
Adding a link like you said above, would feature fun projects, instead of very creative (etc.) ones.

i saw one prodject that only had "one" love it and it was featured!

Beacause "featured" has nothing to do with love-its, downloads or views.
However, the mosed loved project, the most downloaded project and the most viewed project *do* get their own categories on the front page, so the ability to vote for featured projects is entirely redundant.
If you want to show love for a project and get it onto the front page, give it a "love it" and/or download it.

There is, literally, no need to be able to vote for a project to get it featured on the front page as you can ALREADY vote for a project using love-its, and thus get it onto the front page in the "most loved" section.

it would be nice if somewhere on a feature project it said why it was decided to be featured or if the scratch team put a comment on the project saying, eg this project was featured for the unique way it does . . . . .
