Sometimes people spend alot of time on projects that never get seen. I think there should be new areas on the front page like:
most scripts but less veiws
daily random projects
etc.
this would make it more fair with these kinds of things.

This is why there is the curator spot on the front page. It was designed for this.
For the Most Scripts but Less Views, people could put tons of useless scripts in a project. And all projects start out with 0 views, so the projects should be a week or month old at least.
Random Projects used to exist (they were called Surprise Projects), but they were replaced by the curator spot at the end of May 2009. Most of the time the surprise projects were quite lousy though.
Nice ideas though.

There are features like tags, galleries and friends that allow people find certain projects they like. But there is a bug or intentional script in main page and projects page. They do not update instantly. Sometimes there is a lag of 10-20 minutes before the newst projects page become updated and the new projects first become availabale in 3d or 4th page. I think it has been done intentionally to avoid server load. The page we are viewing is a cached version. You can use the forums show and tell section if you think you have a cool project.

Or that they put a bunch of useless scripts in it so that they can say, "I have a project with the most scripts ever!" I've seen projects with no sprites and 10,000 'when flag clicked' scripts before.

I have seen scripts that are litteraly so long the program can't handle it and it hides them. Thos take a long time.

I like the effort you put into getting deserving projects onto the front page, but there are some problems,
1. Projects with the most scripts and least views.
How often does it update, or does it continously display the top projects? Another problem is that some projects are just nothing except for a bunch of scripts that do nothing. Those are just contests.
2. The Surprise Projects used to be on the front page, and served the same purpose. But the Scratch Team removed them, so they probably won't bring it back.

Besides, more scripts doesn't necessarily mean it is better.
yes but it could mean someone spent a long time on it.
Anyone could drag out 1000 [blocks]<when green flag clicked>[/blocks] hard work?
