They can be used for multi directional scrolling. I'm not sure what they mean though. Sorry.  sad

Re: What's sin and cos

Sin is the abbreviation for sine, and cos is the abbreviation for cosine. They are trigonometry terms, also related to tan (tangent). They are related to triangles:

Sine=opposite side/hypotenuse
Cosine=adjacent side/hypotenuse
Tangent=opposite side/adjacent side.

Re: What's sin and cos

It's a mnemonic feature, SOHCAHTOA.

You can move without using the <move( 10 )steps>[/blocks] block.

Code:

[change x by (([sin] of (direction) * (steps to take))]
[change y by (([cos] of (direction) * (steps to take))]

Re: What's sin and cos

They are also used for converting from Cartesian coordinates to Polar coordinates, and vice versa.

Re: What's sin and cos

There's also asin (arcsine), acos (arccosine), and atan (arctangent), but those are much more complicated. The arc(functions) convert a sin, cos, or tan back to angular form.

They are mainly used to figure out sides/angles of a right traingle.
