tbg should stay

the seven,no,eight reasons why tbg should stay.
its really good fun! they can be funny games, creative games and even scary games!
you get to know eachother on scratch!
they arent hurting anyone, are they?
everybody can join in, even people new to scratch can make a new topic showing a game!
new scratchers can be more than just the person who goes "thanks that really helped!" they could make very awesome games!
if this was just a help forum, it wouldnt be very fun, would it?
scratchers who are experts and know how to everything can still go on the forums and play.
they are one of the main parts of the forum.
so thats 8!
if you object please say it nicely (noswearing or calling us idiots!),and please give us a reason why!
thank you!

Oh... Thanks! It really depends, I personally think they should stay. But it's up to the Mod Team.

Re: tbg should stay

I don't think the people who have the power to delete the forums have even considered doing this.

Re: tbg should stay

Ahem, read the general outcries before you start driving points into the wood.

1. The Scratch forums aren't for fun.

You know, while reading this thread, I'm just a bit surprised to find out the outcry of the opposition to Jonathan's post on the basis that the 'Text-Based Games' forum is 'fun'. It makes me a bit worried that this forums, and not Scratch projects, is slowly becoming the basis of entertainment on Scratch.

2. Do you see anyone introducing themselves in the Text-Based-Games? And the New Scratch Members already exist, so there's no need for that.
3. Sorry to tell you this, but that is completely false. Lots of users get insulted (though it's hard to find because the moderators have either removed it or deleted it); I've seen some users exchanging photos of a kitty being threatened with a weapon. And there's so much swearing and nasty stuff going on.
4. We love users exchanging friendly conversation, but they can either RPG in galleries or find a different forum. Lots of people have their own forums anyway. And besides, RPG's work better in galleries because you can put projects inside.
5. They can make games, yes, but read point 4. And besides, they can already make projects and such...
6. Excuse me, the forums aren't supposed to be fun. They're for helping other users. If fun is all you want, go find a different forum.
7. They can go on a different forum... *sigh*
8. They only have lots of posts because of all the people who use the forums only for the games! Some people have reached over 3000 posts by playing all the games they like!

Sorry if I've been a bit stern about it.

True. The Scratch Team never reads the suggestions... *sigh*

Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Re: tbg should stay

I don't think it should stay. They can be fun, but they don't help the Scratch Community (or have anything to do with it).

Of course, you can always read the reasons why it should be deleted in the topic I suggest that the Text-Based Games be deleted.

If you want to argue, please do it in my topic. If you do, I suggest that this be closed.  smile

No, not Scratchers. Text-based gamers.

A lot of people registered on Scratch only come here to play Text-based games. :-/

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>
