In the Texed-Based Games section of the forums, there was a thread called "should I suggest that Text-Based Games be deleted?" and one of the Scratch Moderators (MyRedNeptune) said that she'd be happy if the Texed-Based Games be deleted because people constantly posted there, making it hard to mod.
Should I suggest the Scratch Team pick a new moderator for the Text-Based Games section (And Inspiration and More, since the same problem goes for that as well.) so this might be less of a problem?

Depends. The way some forums work is that there is Admin, Moderator, and Super Moderator.
Admin-Has the power to do anything (moderating-wise) and is obviously, Part of the Scratch Team
Moderator-Only has power over certain subforums
Super Moderator-Same as Admin, but not part of the Scratch Team

so i geuss the text-game mod would only have power over text-games and insp. and more

I think you would make a good mod ^^ you're always so helpful.

For now the Scratch team say they are currently not looking for more forum moderators. However, this may be a good idea if the current mods think they need another to help out.
Although I am pretty sure they already have it covered

Even if we all want a new moderator, it's up to them. MyRedNeptune said once that they had enough moderator power (at the moment, so maybe...), but cheerfully added that all the helpers can moderate already.
Think about it; you don't need to be a moderator! Sure, you can't ban people and such, but you can still report things.

MyRedNeptune said that the Scratch Team didn't need any more forum moderators. So you don't need to hope that the Scratch Team will see your post wishing that you could become a forum moderator.
She mainly does stuff in the Text-Based Games (she says that she stays around where all the action is and what she likes), so she's basically taking the job. And she also likes to cover Inspiration and More and All About Scratch.
If you see something that should be closed, moved, or something that needs to be removed, use the Report button on the bottom-right corner of the post or topic post.
Since there's the report button, the Scratch Forums practically has everyone as a forum moderator. Including you. It's just that real forum moderators don't have to ask for people to do things for them...

I've already posted the suggestion in the Suggestions forum. If you haven't seen it... I suggest that the Text-Based Games be deleted.

I don't ever recall saying that. I believe it was MyRedNeptune who said something along those lines.

So true.
I kind of find it strange that I end up finding topics with forum comments asking for moderators to do this and that (like moving topics and deleting spam and closing threads) without ever bothering to use the 'Report' link first. Even more strange are when I get project comments asking me to address a forum issue.
Just to clear up something: I'm beginning to notice that some of you guys think the the 'Report' link is used to negatively penalize other Scratchers. This is not the case. The 'Report' links are there for a reason: it is to alert us mods of something that needs to be done that otherwise may be overlooked... and it's faster, too!

It would make things easier in the TBG and IM sections, but the moderator would be hated. I am juts thinking. There are so many spam threads, they would have to delete tons! A lot of people would get mad. I think.

Good for you to clear that up.

Really? I haven't seen you saying that, but I've seen someone saying that you have. And since you're the newest, you're the most likely to know...
Good thing to remind people about the Report feature.

I didn't say that. I think it was Paddle who said that.

This website is for supporting Scratch...the fact of the matter is, the Text-Based Games take a fair amount of monitoring which is time and effort spent away from actually helping people do Scratch.

What do you mean? They didn't assign me to moderate Text-based games.

It was me. I think I said that if the Scratch Team needed more mods they wouldn't really hestitate to pick one now or something like that.

I haven't seen cheddargirl's post, but I've seen someone mentioning something that cheddargirl said... that person must have been mixed up. Sorry! I need to change that...
They might not have assigned you to moderate the Text-Based Games, but you visit there a lot.
I never see any moderators in the Suggestions and then two pop up right here...

Are you suggesting that MyRedNeptune be fired as a mod? I don't think so. She's doing fine!

No one suggested anything like that. This is just a suggestion to hire more moderators to help in moderating the text-based games.
