Whenever I start scratch, it always loads this one project automatically. The project is also in presentation mode and is running. I deleted the project, reinstalled scratch, but it still happens. It's tiring because I can't open a project by just pressing the project's icon on my desktop, I have to open scratch, and open projects like that.

did you upgrade to the final 1.4 version?
try this:
Uninstall Scratch
Install Scratch 1.3.1
See if it works, if not continue
Install 1.4

There is a way to set up a shortcut on Windows so that it starts up Scratch, loads a project and then puts it in Presentation mode. See if what you are clicking on to start Scratch is a shortcut and take a look at the shortcut properties - check the Target string and see if there is a project name buried in it somewhere.
Offline
nope, it just shows the target to the application itself and the .image for scratch

I don't know Dsdude. But I would like that bug please. (I want my projects to start automatically.
) Have you done anything with Scratch? Cause there are ways (I think) to start projects in presentation and start. (Like an exe/app but you can still edit it.)

you do not want the bug, it also does this thing that makes me go back to scratch 1.4 rc (release candidate) and it also doesn't let you open projects by clicking on a project's icon, i have to go into scratch, get out of presentation mode, click stop to stop the project and then open projects through scratch, it's so annoying, i almost chucked my laptop at the floor cuz of this glitch, it's getting me REALLY mad.

Well, okay. But even if I didn't want it after I tried it, I could still find out how to fix it. (btw make sure all the other versions are deleted, if you really want them anyways, go to this topic: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2469 )

I'm with Magnie. I would copy off my projects someplace safe. Then, I would delete all versions of Scratch on my computer and start over fresh with a brand new download of 1.4 and a new installation.

the same thing is happening to me again. this time, it happened as i was browsing through some projects on my USB drive. I was browsing projects and as i got to one, i opened it, looked at it, closed it (without doing anything to the project itself) and then i opened another project which opened the project i had opened before already running and in presentation mode. this is happening on my new laptop with Windows Vista. I fixed it on my old laptop when the glitch first happened to me and i fixed it by deleted some files in vista's 'appdata' folder and when i started scratch again, it didn't open the project, now i can't find the project in the 'appdata' so i'm getting confused

Right click a project > click properties > change what it opens with... (If it's already on scratch just go to that same one. > save and try it now!
