Downloaded projects lose notice of authorship

It's very useful to download lots of projects to inspect the scripts. But if one later tries to find the author's name it's often lost. Few people include their name in the Project Notes. If I want to make a remix, or contact the author to leave a message, I have to go back to the Scratch website to search for the project again. Wouldn't it be nice if there were an easy way to include the author's name right in the project somehow?

Re: Downloaded projects lose notice of authorship

When you download someone's project and upload it, it will say below the project screen 'Based on so-and-so's project'. The word 'project' will take you to the project.

It is nice to give credit to the person that made the original project, though. But there's that thing that I mentioned earlier, and you can always go and check the name of the user that made the first project and then include it in the project notes.

I wouldn't mind though...

Actually if you download a project and then go to open it in Scratch. Underneath the project image you should find the author  smile

Re: Downloaded projects lose notice of authorship

People could add a "comment" at the top of the scripts for their major Sprite, giving their Scratch-name and even the date of creation.  But it would also be good if it were built in somehow so that it comes with the "download package."  IMHO, that is.
