I just finished my game ( not revealing anything
) and saved it perfectly fine.
However when I went to open it I got this message
Could not read project; file may be damaged
(key not found)
I havnt done anything different and it was fine 5 minutes ago, Is there anything I can do or have I wasted hours of my time on a doomed project D:

Are you opening it with an older version of Scratch maybe? That gives an error similar to that.
The other possibility is that the file really is damaged in which case I'm sorry to say that you have probably lost all that work
Files can get damaged a number of ways...one of the most common (as I understand it) happens when people shut down the Scratch program before it has finished saving the project. When the project is finished saving, the screen kind of blinks...that's how I know it's safe to shut it down.
