Says I have 4 messages, but I only have 2

One time that happened to another user. Is it possible you got comments on a project you deleted? Or maybe a user posted a comment and was half way done loading but then had internet troubles. Also I imagine if you had just blocked a project from comments while someone was posting, it would cause problems. Maybe you deleted a new comment on the project?
There are lots of weird possibilities.

yes its a lag glitch ! on the homepage it might say 2 messages but on user page it could say 6 !

It's weird how it does this... Sometimes it says I have 10 messages when I only have 5...
And once I got a message saying "You project blah blah blah has received a new comment by so-and-so" and I viewed the comment by itself, but when I went to the project it wasn't there...

O_o that happens to me all the time. Idk whats wrong but once i had like, 5 messages and it said i had 1.

Where it says the ammount of comments you have takes more time to update than the notification page. Like once I had 117 comments and I got one comment on a new project, and it took like a half hour for it to finally say 118!!!!

It happens alot to me when I get messages really fast.
I'm graduating HS this April and going to college in the Fall.
