I think that if scratch could interact with mysql databases, that would be awesome!
I also think scratch should have a webbrowser object. Ex:like visual basic 2008. So the web browser object can navigate to a certain webpage on the web.
<web browser navigate to [] >
just a thought!

I'm a bit lost on your idea of using MySQL with Scratch: what kind of information will this RDMS allow for users to view and manipulate, and how will it help?

Maybe the RDMS can store scratch projects recently made to maybe make some sort of arcade. I think that is exceptional but a web browser in scratch program doesn't sound practical because it will become even more easier for users to post inapropriate content (Violence, Nudity, ect.).

My point with mysql databases is if you want to create a chat application on scratch, you would be able to do it with mysql.

what is MySQL?
MySQL is a database software that allows for viewers and manipulation of relational databases.

In regards to the use of MySQL to create a chat application: The Scratch Team already has stated before they will not allow chat, so it is unlikely they will utilize MySQL for that purpose.

The link I posted does what you want. It interacts with mysql dbs to make chatrooms and MMOs. However, it does require extra software to be running.
