Help with Adobe Flash

I'm starting to get bored with scratch, and I want to move up to Adobe Flash CS4. It isn't like scratch where you can download it and start working with it. With this you need buy a license. You can either buy a full commercial license, or you can get a school discount. I can't to either of these though. The commercial license costs $700 (I don't have that kind of money. so far I just have over half the amount.) As for getting it with school, they mean college, or maybe advanced high school computer classes. I'm starting Junior High and I'm not even in a computer class.

So my question is: is there a way to get the school discount, or just a non-commercial license? Or do I need to keep saving for another 2 years?

I've already downloaded the free practice version, talked to my parents about it, and looked at licenses and the student discount, plus I've taken a trip to my bank to view my money situation.

Re: Help with Adobe Flash

I would ask this kind of stuff on Newgrounds, because those people have probably gone through situations like yours, whereas scratch is completely different.

There are 10 types of people in this world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't. --[insert unrelated transition]-- GRANDILOQUENCE FTW!

Re: Help with Adobe Flash

First you need to understand why it costs so much. It is meant for professional developers who will use the program for profit and eventually make back the cash spent on the program.

You can, if you want make free flash games using the resources on this website.

However for someone like yourself who has no real programming experience you will probably want to practice with the basics and work your way up. It will be much, more difficult than scratch and will require memorization of commands and the understand of new programming concepts. You will not get good enough with flash to start making games by the time the trial is over.
