One idea I have is a 3D version of Scratch. There can be two kinds, a 2D one and a 3D one. The paint editor for the 3D should have not only colors but textures. It should have various 3D shapes such as spheres, rectangular prisms, pyramids, etc. It could also have something like Google Sketchup where you can draw your own shape and raise it. Importing 3D models from Maya, 3ds Max, and Sketchup would be a nice feature. For the stage, you can set the size. From there you could create all the terrain. Scrolling should be a built in feature. There would be an X axis and Y Axis, as well as a Z axis. Panning and orbit tools should be included You could pan and orbit around the screen when you're working and positioning.
For the Scratch Team: I hope you could make 3D Scratch in the nearby feature.

Not going to happen soon, sadly. You can try StarLogo TNG and Alice in the meantime.
