This is the message I sent to my tech person:

Hi Danny, sorry to have to open this again, but I have a minor problem.
Students have been having trouble with "losing" their work. I think the
problem is that the program defaults to saving things to the C: Drive
and even though I was trying to watch for this, that is where things are
ending up. Is there anyway to have it default to the H: drive? It
creates a folder on the C: drive in Documents and Users that is
associated with the student, and is called Scratch projects. I would
like for it to create that folder on their H: drive. So far I have only
been using it with one class, but they move around and don't stay on
their assigned computer and that is where the problem arises because
they cannot find what they have previously saved if they are on a
different computer. Thanks for your help.
Here is his reply:
I've looked into this and it appears that the program was not written to follow Windows' built it folder structure which automatically points all users to their home directory (My Documents) when saving documents.
Unless Scratch updates their program, there isn't much we can do at this point.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Danny
Any chance of Scratch updating to use this structure so that those of us on networks can more easily have students save to their Home directory???
Thanks for your help
