I played with Scratch at a friend's house and I could see the whole screen. When I downloaded the program and tried it out, I could only see half the screen and it looked like the programming area was bigger. I tried re-downloading Scratch but it didn't overwrite the old Scratch. What should I do? Thanks for you help.

Scratch is designed for a screen size of 1024x768 or larger (sometimes called XVGA). It will get bigger but it can't get much smaller. So on a smaller screen, such as 800x600 or 640x480, you will only see part of the Scratch screen. If you are having this problem, see if you can change your display settings to 1024x768 or larger.

Further to my post re: my son's old 800x600 limited laptop, if scaling is not deemed possible, would the Scratch team consider providing a horizontal scroll-bar in the window so that the missing portion of the view can at least be accessed?
