This has happened to me a lot in the past, but now it's getting worse.
20 minutes ago, I saw a new comment on my project, and I wondered why I hadn't recieved a message about it.
I proceeded to read it and reply.
Now, just a minute ago, I finally got the message for that comment.

Why does this happen to me?
Can I prevent it?
Has this happened to you?

I have seen slight delays of maybe 5 minutes...but I've never noticed a 20 minute delay.

Yeah, I watched the clock.
I also get my "Your Project has been added to ____ gallery" notices after like 10 minutes.

I think it happened to me about twice. One was about 3 minutes, the other was about 15 minutes.

Maybe it's due to server overload, like there's too little memory left to perform messaging operations, and by the way, how much MIT Media server memory is granted for Scratch?

that happened to me too. the delay was about 5 minutes or less i think

The cache is set to expire after 5 minutes. We have about 10GB of RAM and about 1TB of disk space. We have three machines and we are planning to get more.

I'm not surprised; as more and more Scratchers join Scratch, you'll need more and more.

this also happens if you are logged into several computers at the same time, only it's for good, i lost a profile to this.
