I'm sure most if you will agree, it gets really annoying when people add you as friends. Usually it is new members, who go round adding random people to their friends list. But I don't want these members to be friends. So I had an idea, what if when you want to add someone as a friend, you sent a friend request. Then the other person has to agree, and then you're both friends.
I know people will say this might make people angry if they are refused, but personally, I think it's a good idea. Tell me what you think.
Thanks,
WeirdF

Actually yours and his ideas are different
Your idea was that there were 2 pages in your friends list, one being people you added, the other being people who added you. His is a completely different concept

I like this idea, but no one important seems to look at ideas like this. So I'm replying to make it go back to the front page.
Kind of sleasy, I know, but this is one of the most irritating things I've had to deal with Scratch. I agree 100%.

There are only two benefits about adding someone to your friend list.
1. You can access their profile by going to your profile and then clicking on their link.
2. You will know whenever the friend makes a new project (My Friends' Latest Projects).
That's it. Nothing big, just that. And the Scratch website only added the second feature at the end of May. They added it so there would be more meaning to being friends.
The term shouldn't even be 'friends'. You're not friends with someone; you get easy access to their profile and you can see their latest projects. Friendship should be (and only if two people are friends with each other) things like exclusive features (such as chat). Which is a pathetic idea.
People might only add you to their friend list so they can get easy access to your profile or so they can see your new projects. My advice: Ignore it.

hi WeirdF ,
You are right.
But i think its not true every time.
just consider you are chatting and you think you like the next person's nature so you definitely add him in your friend list although he/she should new in this forum.
i am agree but its not universally truth...

Eh, ideas bounce around. It doesn't matter anyway.

I know! So the only true benefit about adding someone to your friend list is for a shortcut to their profile... though the 'My Friends' Latest Projects' is nice.
