say somebody can tell the future and predicts the end of the world, now that future would constantly be changing because of the variables so way someone did have some magic power to predict the future, well the future one day could be changed the next day, to believe in predicting the future is to believe that we have no free will and that everything is pre-determined.   now i don't know about you but i don't like the feeling that im not in control of my own life.  now catholics it says in the bible that God gave us free will, therefore meaning that the future is unpredictable because our actions are unpredictable.  nobody could possibly know what will happen in the future.  plus this is just like the year 2000 and what happened then, absolutely nothing.  the only way the apocalypse could happen in 2012 is if humans kill each other off in the third world war, and that seems highly unlikely to me, it is most likely that the third world war will happen much, much later, maybe not even in my lifetime (i surely hope not anyway)  when countries will start to fight over control of the worlds finite resources.  because we never learn, history repeats itself because of mankind's inability to understand that all empires collapse over time, there is always someone thats gonna come along and knock you off your high horse.  anyway im done my super long lecture, its nto going to happen, end of story, bye bye cya later

It's interesting to see that different countries tell different stuff about the Second World War. We were always told at school that the USSR defeated the Nazi army, without mentioning anything about the US - they did participate, but I really got the impression that they played an extrememly minor role... 

Anyways, even if we die in 2012 all of a sudden, it wouldn't be much of a change because well, everybody will die. Seriously, if everybody will die, there will be more point in dying than living.... I think of it as a mass migration or something of that sort. xD

im from Canada, and from what i've learned the US and russia apparently played an equal role in this, but my friend is also Polish and he was * off that they didn't get there sooner and help Poland out. 

but things are always taught differently, i'd like to think Canada has a pretty good teaching system, however in the US i dunno how much they learn about us kickin their butts and burnin down the white house lol.  inf act that's why its white they had to paint over it when it was burned. go canada!

Russia has quite a good educational system. ^^
Well, we mostly study teh great patriotic war and not the whole WWII anyways. xD

People are just freaking out because Nostrodamus predicted it. But think of this: The world won't just suddenly crumble apart like the movie 2012 shows, that's very illogical- it wouldn't happen without a reason. We'll all be fine. And if not, oh well. We all go sometime.

I have a feeling a lot of strong believers wil commit suicide...people over-react.

Not only did he predict Hitler, he predicted the founding of the new world, the fall of the roman empire, and a lot of major events in history.

It's very easy to predict the fall of the Roman Empire centuries after it happened. And if you make something vague enough, it will apply to anything you care to mention.

You'd think they would stop wasting money on nukes and dedicate it to preventing war... then we could spend money on space travel, medical research, and other important things...

How exactly do we go about preventing war, and would it be less expensive than nukes? (Not trying to argue, just want to know the costs of both of these things)
