its just a little glitch, only the poster can see it, but it doesn't matter since it goes away

Actually I've seen it not only on my posts but also sometimes on other peoples posts just as they posted it. It says, "-1 years, 12 months" which would be 0 seconds ago because the -1 years and 12 months cancel out. Anyway, it's just a glitch.

The glitch is probably due to slightly different clocks on different machines, so that the server sees the post as being posted slightly in the future. When its clock catches up to the time on the post, the problem goes away. Since the problem only exists for a minute or two, it is probably not worth fixing.
