Deleted New Users

I have two firends, Adam and Aidan. They each made a Scratch acount in our schools computer lab (I saw them. I was right next to them.). Their usernames were Chuckycheese and acameron488. I tried to become friends on Scratch by searching their names, but nothing showed up. Search Chuckycheese and acameron488 and nothing shows up. What happened to their acounts? They weren't banned.

Re: Deleted New Users

They could have spaces or numbers you haven't used or maybe they just got fed up and deleted them

No. I was right next to them when I searched. They couldn't have deleted them a minute after they made their acount. And you can't have spaces in your username.

Re: Deleted New Users

Are the accounts created a long time ago? Or just... a few minutes ago when when you tried to search?

Scratch uses google to search the site (Some kind of modified version, of course): you can see this when you click search. When you look at the address bar, you will see google.com/...

The google search engine goes through all the webpages on the web, and lists them. It may take a few days (or even a week) before google can find the *new* user pages.

Re: Deleted New Users

Their acounts were made on Thursday, Feb.14th (valentine's day) in the school computer lab. I don't think they can go to their user page. My friend Aidan (ChuckyCheese) sent me a friend request. I accepted, but nothing happened. I went to his profile to befriend, but his name didn't show up on my friends list a and vice  versa. HELP!

Re: Deleted New Users

JSO: we are using Google search and it is up to Google to decide how often they index new pages. If those users have not created anything, it is almost impossible for Google to find them because Google cannot guess their name.

Here is what you can do:

If you know someone's username you can come up with the URL of their MyStuff page by typing http://scratch.mit.edu/users/username, just replace username for the real one.

For example: http://scratch.mit.edu/users/acameron488
