Two cannibals cross, one gets out, and then the cannibal comes back brings one missionary,the missionary gets out,the cannibal rides back, gets out, and two missionaries get in.One missionary gets out, the other brings the boat back.

So far we have two missionaries and one cannibal on the other side of the river, one missionary in the boat, and two cannibals in front of the river.

the missionary brings one cannibal, the cannibal gets out, the missionary rides back, gets the last cannibal they both ride to the other side, and both get out.

Two cannibals cross, one heads back, two more cross, one heads back, two missionaries cross, one cannibal and one missionary head back, two missionaries head across, that one cannibal heads back, two cannibals come across, one cannibal heads back, then the last two cannibals cross

it's chess! black horse is the knight, which can jump over rooks (towers) and the small man is a pawn.
