Wikipedia

This is a test to see how people contribute... I've been using Wikipedia a lot lately (it's an online encyclopedia), and I was wondering if we could try starting one.

Code will come in handy here. If you don't know how to use italics or something other than that, check this out: Forum Code

READ THIS

Rules:

1. Good grammar, spelling, and the like are required. If this is ignored, the whole thing will become chaotic and ruined.

2. Be helpful. Don't be afraid to edit others' articles and improve them. Be aware that they may know some things that you don't, so no panicking and deleting all the extra facts.

3. Don't vandalize. Vandalism is where you go over an article (or more) and ruin it. It's no good, though; there's a way to start all over again with the latest good post... but that's no reason to see it as okay to be cruel.

4. Be appropriate. Don't start rude articles about topics that shouldn't be discussed here. If you ignore this, prepare to be reported.[/i]

5. No unneccesary posts. No posting anything that isn't an improvement to Wikipedia.

6. No silly articles. No making articles about your Scratch User, dog, car, house, or anything else that isn't known. Some example articles are these: Bread, Playing Cards, Chairs.

7. Pictures are allowed, but not too many. Just don't put too many pictures in, and you'll be fine.

8. No overusing italics, bold, underline, etc.. Those features are fine, but don't use them all the time.
Right then... now for how to create articles:

9. Articles go in alphabetical order. This way it's easier to find things.

Article Creating

Layout is important. Here's how it goes:

Content Content Content Content
_________________________________________________________________________________

Name (The name is underlined.)(This is our examined article.)
(Empty Line)
Section Name (In bold.)
Content
Content
Content
Content
Content
(An empty line here)
_________________________________________________________________________________
(A line to show the end of the article, and then two lines skipped...)

Next Article

And that's done. But if you're making the article on the bottom, add five empty lines to put a gap between the last line of _____'s and your signature (if you have one).

Editing Articles

To edit articles, find the most recent post and click Quote. But be careful; the last post may be vandalized! Anyway, now remove the bits at the beginning that quote the post. Now you can get to work! Go around editing, and remember the rules.
Once you're done, click Submit and there you go!

Right then, that's all. I may be adding more content here later... anyway, I'll start it off.

Code
Scratch is a programming language developed by the Scratch Team. It consists of blocks, which fit together like a jigsaw puzzle and can be used to make code. There are many different blocks, which have been grouped into eight different categories to stop the pallete from being too big. The groups are Control, Motion, Looks, Sensing, Sounds, Operators, Pen, and Variables.

Projects can be uploaded to the Scratch Website, where they can be viewed from all over the world. Projects can also be downloaded as long as they have been shared, which enables you to remix projects and share them.

Releases
The Scratch Team occasionally releases new versions of Scratch. The updated versions include more blocks, which increase Scratch's programming abilities. Past improvements have included Lists, more Variable blocks, more Operators blocks, and the Ask function.
The current version is Scratch 1.4.

Wii

System
First released in 2006, the Wii is Nintendo's next gen system. One of it's most distinct features is motion control. That motion control basically defines the system. Once you turn it on, you are presented with a menu which you point at the sensor bar with the Wiimote (Controller) and point and click to navigate through channels like the Photo channel, the Wii Shop Channel, the Mii channel, the Internet channel. Because of Wi-Fi connectivity, you can buy games from the internet using Wii Points or even surf the web!

Games
Some people may complain of lack of games for older gamers on the Wii, but look at Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Mad World, both games exclusively for the Wii that are rated M! The big hits for the Wii include Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which I think will please anyone, Super Mario Galaxy, which has plently of hardness while maintaining those colorful worlds from Super Mario 64, And finally Super Smash Bros Brawl, which is basically a fighting game that anyone will enjoy. The Wii doesnt lack games. PERIOD.

Whats Coming Next?
Nintendo has created it's most revolutionary system yet, so what will come next? It hasnt been confirmed yet, but rumors say that Nintendo is working on a new version of the Wii that will support HD graphics and more that will come out in 2012. Keep your eyes peeled.

DS

System
The DS is Nintendo's latest handheld game system. Three versions of the handheld have been released. First, the original, which introduced the new system interface and touch control. Then the DS Lite came, which made all the functions of the original better, like a brighter screen and bigger buttons. The last installment of the handheld is the DSi, which redesigned the system start up menu, can surf the internet, download games, and, the biggest improvement, a built in camera with 11 lenses!

Wi-Fi
The Wi-Fi of the DS and the Lite was limited to a few games which allowed playing people around the world. That was fine at the time, but the DSi takes that to a whole new level. You can start by going on to the DSi Shop and downloading many goodies like an internet browser, interactive clocks, and system exclusive games called DSi Ware.

Other features
Some other features of the DS include Pictochat, which (sadly) cant work over the internet. Another feature is DS download play, which you can use to download demos of some games or play a multiplayer with only one game pack. The DSi exclusive features are the camera, a sound recorder, and the multitude of games you can buy off of the internet.

Scratch

Use
Scratch is used a lot in education, which resulted in a whole forum section on Educators. That's not it; it's used worldwide in many schools and organizations. But not all Scratch users are educators and students! Many Scratchers are just hobbyists who Scratch for the fun of it, and to share their projects online.

Scratch.mit.edu

Whats Coming Next?
Nintendo has created it's most revolutionary system yet, so what will come next? It hasnt been confirmed yet, but rumors say that Nintendo is working on a new version of the Wii that will support HD graphics a DVD player, and more that will come out in 2012.

Some other features of the DS include Pictochat, which [sadly] cant work over the internet. Another feature is DS download play, which you can use to download demos of some games or play a multiplayer with only one game pack. The DSi exclusive features are the camera, a sound recorder, and the multitude of games you can buy off of the internet.

Pokemon is a media franchise published by the video game company Nintendo and created by Satoshi Tajiri around 1995. Big-Bang, this wiki isn't only about Scratch. You can have an article on everything, as long as it's sensible. Read rules 4 and 6.

Comment block

The comment block was an experimental block in Scratch 1.2 Beta. It was removed by the development team after the official version and in Scratch 1.3 replaced by rectangle thing that you type into. You can now also adjust it's width.
