project

I made a spinner project (It's not on the website yet) but before I did it I looked at someone elses project to see what coding they used so I knew how to do it. I didn't use exactly the same numbers but I used very similar coding if I put it my project on scratch would I have to put that I looked at someone elses project first and used basically the same coding as them? (sorry if that explanation is complicated)

Re: project

If you download someone's project and make some changes, then re-post it, it is now "your" project, but will have a note at the bottom saying that it is "based on (other user's) project".  This is called a "remix".

If you did something very similar, but started from "scratch", this note won't appear.  I think that it would be courteous to say "inspired by" in your project notes.  Some scratchers use sprites or backgrounds from other people's projects to build something new;  Again, it would be nice to make a note of whose project they came from.

This helps people feel better about sharing their work, and it helps with finding projects you are interested in;  For instance, if someone looks at your project and likes it, your "inspired by" note might lead them to go look at that person's page to see what else the "inspiring Scratcher" has done.

Re: project

Ok. I know this is stupid but I don't actually know what inspired by means. What does it mean?

Re: project

Inspired means a project gave you the idea or reason for doing a project, or something you want to be like.
