Stickys stay on top of posts that aren't stickys.

Re: What is a sticky in the forums?

sticky posts are important topics that will always be at the top of the first page. they explain important topics, and deserve the recognition of being on the top of the page.

Re: What is a sticky in the forums?

In each Scratch forum, there are topics. There are ordinary ones that you see all the time. But stickied topics are topics that people think are good enough that they should stay for people to see. Normally topics get buried down in the list of topics. They only get brought up if someone posts in them. Stickied topics used to be ordinary topics, but either someone in the Scratch Team (they get forum moderator power of course) or a forum moderator stickies it. Stickied topics are at the top of the topic list. The stickies can rise and fall like normal topics, but the stickies always come before the normal topics.

The All About Scratch forum used to have plenty of stickies, but cheddargirl removed their stickyness and gave links to them in a new sticky. Like there might be a sticky that gives links to three different old stickies.

Hope this helps!  smile
