3D engine with 3-direction camera rotation and angular perspective

I have created a project that is a 3D engine that uses 3 rotational directions (like pitch, roll, yaw and stuff) and also uses a perspective of degrees of arc like human vision. you can download and change the FOV and stuff, and duplicate the sprite... here: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/DarthPickley/664751

Re: 3D engine with 3-direction camera rotation and angular perspective

thanks. I am thinking about widening the xFOV angle (and, for retaining proportion, the yFOV) so that you are able to see more. maybe to 90 or even 120. Then distortion might be visible. when it really gets weird looking is if you set the FOV to around 300º, then you can see the world like a sparrow or frog. I might want to also make a horizon line for reference, and a shadow that stays at y=0. these sort of modifications would use the engine to create a more realistic environment.

I read somewhere human field of vison is about 200 degrees, slightly more than 180 degrees.

Re: 3D engine with 3-direction camera rotation and angular perspective

hmm, interesting. I am also considering making it feel more like an airplane simulation...

Re: 3D engine with 3-direction camera rotation and angular perspective

that would be fun, with all the angles of rotation.
