are the good old days gone!

Well since I Joined almost 6 months ago but i saw this site about 9 months ago it has looked like the site is getting nw members but its going downwords by lots of the comunity are fighting and thinking "I AM THE MOST LOVED ON SCRATCH" but your not ! And these Flamed wars are happening all the time like when I joined it was never like that and all the comunity respected eachother and now sometimes people hate you for no reason ! Some members that will  join in a few month will think scratch is really bad and the traffic will decrease ! Do you really want this ? Are the good old days gone ?

Re: are the good old days gone!

That's exactly what's happening.
Scratch used to be a community of peers who respected one another, but now it's just...how can I describe it?

Scratchers these days are getting egos, and think they can pull stunts and cause uproars in the scatch community, like the classic 'i quit' project. after a day of basking in the positive comments given by their fans, the scratcher will then say "Oh nevermind- I'm staying."

Or the more recent stunt- "I'm going to die in 2 weeks."

I did one of those once, but I was gone for over 8 months, so it doesn't count, and it was in the forum, not on a project

at least the I quit projects have gotten better, at least they're not "remix this or I quit", or "love-it this or I quit"

the wars that are going on in scratch are terrible, some people flag other people's projects because they don't like the person.

I know. Scratch has become over-run with childish fighting and drama. It's a programming website, so how did all of this * get thrown in?

I think people jump to conclusions to quickly, I mean, with the art problem, they didn't stop to think, hey wait a second, we're the ones that are actually looking at this stuff. They just started complaining

Well, some people actually take the internet seriously.

I kinda feel sorry for them. But it's fun to watch all of it.

Re: are the good old days gone!

We discussed this topic with Andres and other Scratchteamandmoderators, I believe that's why they made the Scratch Design Studio topic "Design your own front page". ^^

They are concerned about this and personally I believe that adding a few display thingies such as an accent on the amount of scripts in a project might solve a few problems, particularly the programming-gets-no-attention one. xD

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>

Woo, even better minecraft clone! | I feel that programming is better than animation, because you can interact with games but not animations.

Things go wild after some time. For now, I suppose the best thing to do is party, be natural, or ignore it.

i stopped to think  smile
with a forum post
which lead to illusionist's project
which led to a new scratch design studio
which hopefully leads to a resolution, but i agree with everyone, young immature kids are starting to control the website and its getting pretty annoying, i know this is somewhat hypocritical but i have been debating wether or not to just move onto another language, dont convince me to stay or anything im not gonna make a big fuss about it, nothing is set in stone but all of this is starting to bug me, i bet the traffic will slow down alot soon.
