I was wondering, if, the Scratch developers might make a three-dimensional spin off from Scratch: Scratch 3D. I really think they should make it!!!

Already suggested a lot of times, and will probably never be done.
You can use StarLogo TNG which is similar: http://education.mit.edu/drupal/starlogo-tng

Starlogo is pretty much the same as scratch, but in 3d... or that is what it looks like from the pictures.

Apple already did that with Quartz Composer. Sprites with 3D but it's a developer tool for mac.

i think scratch just needs a .3ds or .skp plugin to become 3d
by the way u can still make 3d projects with scratch with a lot of work

I just don't htink it will ever happen. It takes up too much time and resources, which frankly the Scratch team doesn't have.

Well, there is a way to make 3D games, but I hear its amazingly complicated.

ya maybe they could use Open GL

Honestly, has anyone thought about how hard this would be? Often people ask for something ridiculous and they don't think about how stupid it is. This is a case. Scratch would be impossibly hard to program in 3D. And it wouldn't work as well in some cases.
You can make 3D looking sprites and backgrounds, but you will never capture the true 3D project.

Yeah, um incase you haven't heard, THAT ISN'T REAL 3D! By 3D, it means actual 3D models, and the z dimension...

This has been resolved already. I'm not reprimanding you for posting this thread without checking, because that wasn't added to this link at the time... Suggestions that have been resolved already
Read section 7.

How would you make sprites (well models now that it's 3D)? The paint editor would have to be completely changed... Then the model editor would have to either be easy or detailed and complicated. And scratch is meant to be simple. A lot of things would be confusing in 3D for scratch. Scratch is meant to TEACH BASIC programming, by the time you want to do real 3D you should move on from scratch.
