Scratchboard idea
Can you put a cover on the Scratchboard? I spent $50 (CDN) on it and in a week, it got a small scratch on the back and stopped working completely. I can't get a new one because dad says he'll only buy another one if you do that, otherwise it might happen again and more money will be gone. So instead of the bare circuit board, can you put one on to make this stop happening?

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

You can probably fix the scratch on the scratch board with a little solder and a soldering iron.
You can also buy a box for it at an electronics store, or find a plastic container about the right size at the grocery store or wherever sells kitchen supplies in your town.

Actually it's on one of the orange wires on the back. It's right under the 6 in 11/2006.

A "scratch" on a wire should not cause the board to stop working unless the wire has lost insulation at that point and is now touching something conductive and shorting out. Maybe you can put a bit of electrical tape around it if that is the case. Or dab a bit of hot-melt glue to cover the bare spot (carefully!).
It is also possible that the wire has broken, due to being bent too much. Get a Volt/Ohm meter and check the wire for continuity. If you find that it is broken, maybe you can replace it or splice it.
A worse possibility is that the wire shorted through another component and fried it. That is more difficult to track down and fix.
