Removing Projects

How do you remove a project by someone else from your gallery? Because I have some projects in a gallery that have nothing to do with the gallery. Please help!

Re: Removing Projects

Hi Mick. Right now only the owner of the project can remove it from the gallery. We will be adding that feature in the future.

Re: Removing Projects

I think that the gallery model is all messed up.

The owner of the gallery should be able to add or remove projects from the gallery.
The owner of the project should only be able to remove projects, not add them.

That is, the gallery should be an edited list of projects, with a known editor.
There should be an easy way for someone to notify a gallery editor of a potentially interesting project.  (While viewing the project, be able to do a submit to gallery, which allows the editor to decide whether or not to include the project .)

Similarly, the "friends' lists are messed up. I'm not interested in just symmetric relationships.
I want to have a list of people whose work interests me, so I can check on them from time to time.  Others may want me on their lists, even if I'm not interested in their work.

There should be a way to keep a list of  "interesting people" without  needing their permission and without appearing on their lists of interesting people.

Re: Removing Projects

I created a gallery for my students to share their projects. The gallery exists and has some work uploaded to it, but now the gallery does not show up when you do a gallery search so the kids can't join it. I'm on Mac OS X 10.4.9.

Re: Removing Projects

Many people have raised questions about Galleries. We are in the process of rethinking the way Galleries work. Here is one alternative we're considering:

* Everyone can add their own projects to any Gallery.

* A Gallery owner can add any project (by anyone) to their own Gallery.

* The Gallery owner can remove any project in their Gallery (so the Gallery owner can remove unwanted projects that were added by others)

* The owner of a project can remove their project from any Gallery (so if the project owner doesn't want their project featured in a Gallery, they can remove it).

What do you think of that approach? We want to keep things simple, but also offer the right functionality.

Other Gallery-related features that we're considering:

* Each project could have a listing of what Galleries it is in

* Rather than "subscribing" to a Gallery, you could just select it as a "Favorite" (as you currently do with projects).

Let us know if you have other ideas/suggestions for Galleries...

Re: Removing Projects

If someone has added one of your projects to they're gallery I think a request should appear in your stuff page.  smile

Re: Removing Projects

^ I agree. I would like to choose which galleries my projects are a part of.

I am the original 300pockets of myspace.com/300pockets. I am quite young, and my interests include astrophysics, reading fantasy novels, and using programs such as Bryce5 to create 3D landscapes. I enjoy creating oceans, although I am afraid of swimming in the real seas. My cowardice does not overcome my sense for beauty.

Re: Removing Projects

My only problem is that some of my projects may not fit certain parameters (i.e. I don't want my Bouncing Paint program to be in a 3D gallery because it isn't 3D.)
