Re: Tomboy Pro Operating System. Coming Soon. Very Soon.

I have a question to ask. Please vote on your answer.

Shall I add wiimote and picoboard support to Tomboy Pro? yes or no?

EDIT: This is the 3rd Page! I couldn't have done it without everybodys interest!

Re: Tomboy Pro Operating System. Coming Soon. Very Soon.

V++ News:
I have Created Variables outside of the main function. code to do so is:

Code:

main(){
var(vartest="hello world")
program.write(vartest)
end(no)
}

Output:

Code:

hello world

This allows you to make variables in two different ways. inside the main(){ function, and using the var() command

Just a Reminder:

Re: Tomboy Pro Operating System. Coming Soon. Very Soon.

Please Give Me Feedback on these Subjects:

Are The Graphics Good? I think the Grey Theme fits well with the Term OS, but It's anyones call.

Is it simple enough? Everything apart from advance features (like V++) should be.

How many Glitches did you find? I find none, but that's me.

Do you like the website? It's good for me, but that's because I made it. I'm moving to .com as soon as I have enough money.

Overall Improvements?

Re: Tomboy Pro Operating System. Coming Soon. Very Soon.

1. I think in the Control Panel you should be able to choose a theme, like Blue, Red, Green. Rainbow, Clouds, etc

2. It's pretty simple. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of how the cursor moves (I prefer just free movement) but it's your call.

3. No glitches for now.

4. The website is pretty good, you could probably add some more aesthetic things to it to make it look nicer, but it's pretty good.

The cursor on the desktop. Like, it moves in a grid instead of free movement.

I'm sure I would have liked it, but my computer didn't like it  sad .  Scratch glitched up and I didn't get to use Tomboy OS.  Windows XP Home SP3, two OSes installed.

Hmm... maybe I'll...I actually can't think of anything....You could try one of the "lesser" betas....
Beta 3
Beta 2
Beta 1

Or you could try the Original Tomboy, which really really sucked.
Tomboy

I used to have an XP just like that, my mum and dad accidently installed XP twice.
In the end it got so slow that Tomboy Pro took about five seconds where scratch was frozen, and another ten where a "reading" bar appeared. maybe that's the problem?

you mean when your dragging something about... I'll try and change that, but I've already implanted it deep into the mechanics... I can't completely get rid of the snap to grid, but I can make it so that It's
a) Hidden when nothing is selected, then free dragging until the mouse button is released, then the icon will snap to grid, or

b) completely get rid of the light blue thing and make it so that you have to click exactly on the icon....

Re: Tomboy Pro Operating System. Coming Soon. Very Soon.

I finally have an update!

V++:

Can now replace the values of variables. code to do so is:

Code:

main(){
var(test="test")
var(test).replace("works")
end(no)
}

This, if you take up the list which contain var names and values, successfully converts test, with the original value of "test", into the new value, "works".

Nothing that Heliosa mentioned (yet...) seems a bit harder than I thought...

Re: Tomboy Pro Operating System. Coming Soon. Very Soon.

Whats V++?

When I open your project this popup appears: "remote connection sensor activated"
I googled it and I found out that I can activate it here:
Sensing->Rightclick on  <Sensor [...]?> ->Click on enable remote connection

I found out that you can use it for multiplayer games or something like this and I found out something about ScratchBoard. But im only interested in getting/changing scratch variables using a programming language like c++/c#/c or java or python .
( I can C++, JavaScript, PHP & Mysql, HTML and Batch)

Please help me.

P.S:
I'm german. Please excuse my (bad) english^^

I can C++, JavaScript, Actionscript,HTML,BATCH/MSDOS, and Scratch. seeing as you know them to, V++ should be rather familiar. it's a language I'm making for my OS.

The reason "Remote Sensor Connections Active" pops up, is because I'm using (or going to) it for wiimote input, and if I

a) learn python and make it myself, or
b) get someone else to do it,

I wan't to make it so that my file browser will actually be able to explore files stored on the system, and even open .txt files. alternatively, a function in which a list is saved into a text file so that you can close Tomboy Pro without actually having to save the actual project first would be nice.

Ah, I'm  sure my English is bad to. please excuse me if I confused you

Anyway, just press OK for the "Remote Sensor Connection" thing, and sart using my OS!

Re: Tomboy Pro Operating System. Coming Soon. Very Soon.

Wait... It's possible to use the Wiimote? How?
And V++ is your language? A language for your OS? How do you do that?
Do I need a compiler for V++ ?
And is it possible to change scratch variables with c++ or c# ?

First of all thx for your answer^^
When I want to save something in TB OS the system crash. I can't d anything else so I have to restart it. Is that normal? Hope not^^

Re: Tomboy Pro Operating System. Coming Soon. Very Soon.

All of what you said is true. Wiimote connections can be established via Wii2Scratch, developed by stretchy-boy. You can change global variables ith C++, C, and all that. V++ compiler built in to the editor. the editor and VM are both inside the scratch project.

sorry for not replying... it is the first week of term...

Re: Tomboy Pro Operating System. Coming Soon. Very Soon.

Kind of getting side tracked, what with moving into secondary school and everything, but as soon as I get a USB stick, i'll be able to work on it at school as well as at home, so that I can use home for homework and school for scratch. and when I'm at school I'll be less tempted to play around on the net and whatnot, so I should actually get it done faster.

Until then, just be aware that less time is being spent.

EDIT: Got a microSD-USB adapter, so i can use it on, say handhelds  with the microSD, and with a computer aswell
