Dragons Take Over Signatures!
First it was advertisements. Then it was brawlcards. Now it's... Dragons?

That's right, the current fad regarding signatures is dragon eggs and hatchlings. Whether it's "Click to save the dragons!" or simply "Click!" rasing dragons is all the rage. In nearly every topic, you'll find somebody who has eggs in their signature. There are even entire topics dedicated to the hatching and clicking of dragons.

But the dragons aren't bothersome. Their images are small and easy to fit in a signature, so they can meet their clicking requirements. The eggs are quite colorful, and have fabulous artwork. Sometimes, it's just fun to surf the forums looking at everybody's dragons.

Who knows how long this craze will last? All I know is that that egg is going to die if it doesn't hatch in __ days and __ hours, so keep clicking!

What Ever Happened to the Scratch Olympics?

The above quote was taken from the most recent post on the sticky "The Olympics Scratched Up!!" That's what I've been wondering too. What happened?

Only a few weeks ago, the Olympics was all the rage, and nearly all the new projects from scratch's best had something to do with the olympics. But now....?

When it started up, I was a bit skeptical. But when I saw how long we had, I was amazed. I could do this! So I signed up, on Germany's Allstars team. It was one of the only teams at that time. But only a day later, there were too many teams to count! Only a few days later, the contest was stickied.

And stragely enough, that's when things started to go downhill. The excitement started to wear off. You could only find the team homepages on the second or third page of show and tell.

But apperently, according to technoman, the owner of the contest, it's still up and running. My only concern now is that technoman might not be able to judges. After all, his contest being so popular, how many people are left who haven't entered?

In Their Own Words: Staraptor

Staraptor was one of the first scratchers to post a dragon egg in their signature. Here's what I found out when I interveiwed one of the founders of the dragon craze.

How did you find Dragon Cave?

Matthewthemagical. I consider myself the second most important figure in the dragon revolution, Keikij started the craze, I made the first hatchery, and two people tried to copy me....

How do you feel about dragons becoming popular?

I dunno. Like all fads, the one will fade someday..

Do you think posting eggs in your signature or in a thread accually works?

Of course it works!

I notice you no longer have dragons in your signature. Do you still hatch dragons?

I would, but I needed to make room for my PMing petition. I might replace it with some eggs sometime soon...

What is the coolest dragon you've ever hatched?

Tough desicion, but I choose a balloon dragon. It's amazing that it has helium inside is body!

Interview with nikiperson2:

TroughTheFire: When did you start the WOTF RPG?

Nikiperson2: Well technically, I didn't create WOTF. It's based off of an RPG gallery made by Hazelleafkitty, I just decided to make a forum topic of it too. I made it about a month or two ago.

TTF: Can you believe it has the highest post count in the Forums?

NP2: I didn't think it would get to have the highest post count, I mean, I didn't even know until you told me. Plus, the forums have been around for so long, and my topic hasn't even been around that long. No, I can't believe it.

TTF: Does your RPG have a lot of members or a few loyal ones?

NP2: There are a few loyal ones overall, people will come and go, but there's about 7-8 really loyal members.

TTF: How do you feel about being the most likely to hold the coveted 10,000 post title?

NP2: good. I think there was already a topic that's purpose was to reach over 10,000 posts, I think think its kind of ironic that I would be beating it.

TTF: Okay, do you have any last words?

NP2: Um...I guess, thanks for interviewing me I guess ^^

A Scratch First?

Today may be the first time in scratch history that a single user has created a featured gallery and featured project, and they are both featured at the same time!!

Even more of an amazing coincidence is that the featured project is in the featured gallery!

Of course, I'm talking about the project Numbers Farsi and the gallery Numbers, created by Dr. Super.

The gallery currently has four projects, Farsi, English, Greek, and Portuguese. More are coming, such as Russian, Swedish, German, French, and mabe even Arabic. Said Paddle2See: "Let's see how many different languages we can get!"

Here are a few quotes:

Dapontes: "It's very interesting to hear the sounds of numbers in Farsi language! i like it!"

BWOG: "If I knew any language other than English I would make one"

The-Whiz: "This is great! I only know English and Roman Numerals though..."

ffred: "I think your idea is walking in the stars."

What will happen to the Front Page?

Many of you noticed the most recent Scratch Design Studio Gallery, Front Page Design. Many people have subbmitted their ideas and are excited to see the results! There are lots of good ideas including Illusionist's and FantasyTales's great solution idea! http://i28.tinypic.com/2ntv4gw.gif
What will happen to the front page? Will it have a whole new look? Will you be able to customize and organize galleries, projects, and more? What do you think will happen? We don't know when the scratch team will pick (or combine) ideas to change the website. I'm expecting changes after they remove the Gallery from the Scratch Design Studio area on the front page. Good luck on creating ideas and watch for more updates on the scratch website as the Scratch Team collaberates all of these great ideas into a better website and scratch community!  wink

Parte I: Endeworldei, the World's End
The year was 3220, over two hundred years after the end of the Millennium.  Technology had progressed quickly when humans returned to the old world--as had the evil.  Every law in existence had been ignored, and anarchy reigned supreme in the land. (PARADOX?)
Not so with one family, however.  The corruption did not affect the last few members of the Knights' family, who tried to follow all the laws in the Bible, knowing that their relative goodness made them a prime target for every gunman, bomber, or other inhuman creature.  However, they realized that the second judgment was drawing near--the destruction by fire.

The Knights' young son, Quinn, was always very daring and adventurous, and nearly got caught a few times while scouting around outside.  One day, however, he found a small rock with the following carved into it:

Not knowing what it said, he just brought it home and asked his parents.  They looked shocked when they saw it, but did not understand the language either.  "It appears to be an artifact from the Old World," said his father.  "Maybe even..." He stopped and shook his head.
That night, Quinn dreamt that he heard a voice saying, "Three there shall be, and the third you are." He looked up and saw a bright light, but was blinded by it. "You have been chosen to escape this evil planet, and will be given the gift of tongues."
When he woke up, he looked at the rock again, but this time he could read it.  It said:

It said:
There was another Noah.

TTF: Can you believe it has the highest post count in the Forums?

NP2: I didn't think it would get to have the highest post count, I mean, I didn't even know until you told me. Plus, the forums have been around for so long, and my topic hasn't even been around that long. No, I can't believe it.

Good luck on creating ideas and watch for more updates on the scratch website as the Scratch Team collaberates all of these great ideas into a better website and scratch community! ;)
Author's Note: Please do not criticize this for the religious content; there will be some cool sci-fi later on ;)

One day, however, he found a small rock with the following carved into it:
http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/4051/engleirock.png
Not knowing what it said, he just brought it home and asked his parents. They looked shocked when they saw it, but did not understand the language either. "It appears to be an artifact from the Old World," said his father. "Maybe even..." He stopped and shook his head.
That night, Quinn dreamt that he heard a voice saying, "Three there shall be, and the third you are." He looked up and saw a bright light, but was blinded by it. "You have been chosen to escape this evil planet, and will be given the gift of tongues."
When he woke up, he looked at the rock again, but this time he could read it. It said:
There was another Noah.
Re: The Scratcher Newspaper (Issue #1)

You know, out of all the Scratch magazines and newspapers being advertised, this one I enjoyed the most.

The only issue I have with this is that the posts can become incredibly long. It would be nicer if the paper can be hosted on a website (say, maybe a web page for each issue that comes out?) with blog capabilities so people can comment back.  smile

Other than that, awesome job well done.  big_smile
