New Website Changes Causing Browser Weirdness? (Mac; FF3b)

Hey guys, anyone else out there seeing an all-vertical strip of projects under "my stuff" since the last site update? Projects used to line up in a nice little grid. It seems like a rendering issue more than a design change.

I checked it just now in Opera, and it is still the nice old grid-layout... Hmm. I'm on a Mac - OSX Tiger, running Firefox 3 beta. I can post a screenshot if its helpful. ;]

I went ahead and took a screenshot, so you can see what I see:

I don't have time to dig into the CSS myself, but thar she be.

Yes, I am seeing the same problem with the My Stuff page.  This was a bit surprising, since the beta test site that the ScratchR team had some people look at had fixed this bug.  I'm thinking that they released the wrong version of the site this weekend, and may have to try again to get out the version they intended.

Re: New Website Changes Causing Browser Weirdness? (Mac; FF3b)

We did get this report from Kevin but we didn't test on Firefox on Mac. We only tested Safari, Opera, Firefox 2, IE6 and IE7. I am wondering if this is a bug on Firefox 3. This cross-browser compatibility is such a hassle, I guess if we had w3c valid code it might make it easier. I'll ask around some Mac people about this. I don't think we should revert the recent changes since this is affecting a small percentage of users. What do you think?

Thanks a lot for that screenshot, is extremely useful to understand what's going on.

By the way, is this problem only on FF 3 o also on FF 2 on Mac?

It is definitely there in FF2.  I think it may be related to relying on css styles that aren't in the global.css file that is mentioned on the projects pages.

Problem solved.  You have to clear Firefox's cache, because it is still caching the old version of the css style file (or something).  Perhaps there was a datestamp problem that made the old style file look newer than the current one.  Anyway, this problem seems to be cleared up when the browser cache is emptied.
