There's no miniux operating system as far as I know. Do you mean Linux?

Ok, if maybe you heard correctly Scratch is not fully working on linux. What CPU architecture are you using? Try to use the other downloads. They MAY work. But I wouldn't recommend it. It's REALLY laggy. Use another operating system(XP, for instance) or you can ask your parents about a virtual machine.

well... we got a new computer and my dad installed ubuntu on it. when i first tried to install scratch 1.4, i got the error I told you about. so, the next day, I tried it again and it worked. but when we reinstalled ubuntu on another computer, i also tried installing scratch 1.4. but got the same error. i tried it again and still got the error.
