The answer to my riddle is that his wife was having a baby, the man wwas driving to the hospital, he got out and when he came back his wife died during childbirth. The stranger is the baby.

if i was stuck in a solid room i would break down the wall with the table and if the table turned to powder i would use the mirror until finally i put a hole through the wall big enough for me to crawl through.
