Maybe you could add a section on the home page that has the most popular projects. That is, projects with the highest percent of 'love its' for their views. For example, a project with 500 views might have 20 love its and be in the "top loved" section on the homepage. But there could also be a project with only 100 views, but 10 love its. It would have a higher 'love it'' percentage so it would be more popular. I understand that there could be problems with projects with only 1 view that have 1 love it, but maybe there your project would need at least 100 views to qualify. Also once a project has been in there once it would have to leave or else the same projects might be there forever.

It doesn't really seem necessary. Personally, I think that between the Top Loved and Top Viewed sections, popularity is pretty well covered. Still, you bring up a good point...

This isn't really necessary. The front page has more than enough project sections.

I do also agree with archmage, "Top Loved" and "Most Visited" are basically the same idea as what you have, so really; I do not feel as though the Scratch team would really bother. But, keep thinking of more ideas!

You really don't need that, at first even I was thinking,"Why is there a suprise project section?" but actually it is so projects actually get shown.

As said before, I think it isn't really necessary. A "popular" projects section also might not be such a good idea because Scratch isn't really about having popular projects or having a contest, but sharing and learning.
