I the main site, I tried it on my dad's computer too but it only says
404 - Page Not Found - Our server is Scratch'ing its head
The page - scratch.mit.edu/pages/results?cx=010101365770046705949%3Agg_q9cry0mq&cof=FORID%3A11&q=scratch&safe=active&sa=search - cannot be found. Try again later or search for something else:

I think there are two topics already in the troubleshooting section related to this problem. But since this is a troubleshooting issue, I'll be moving it to troubleshooting at your request.
Considering that Scratch's search engine is really based on Google, you can still do a search engine query by typing in keywords and adding 'site:scratch.mit.edu' to the end of the query in a Google Search engine. (see the end of the first post here to have a better understanding of what I mean http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=17623)
