You never know small talk - which squeak is based on and scratch is written in has been around 30 - which as the average lifespan of a programming language is 15 (per an article I googled) It probably won't resemble 1.3 or 1.4 but I think the vision of a programming language for 8 year olds (or younger on a case by case basis) will still be legit, and I hope MIT will still be supporting it.

Everybody here has forgotten 1 thing. SCRATCH HAS BRAINWAHED US ALL, AND IF WE QUIT, WE DIE *GASPS* (XD) SCRATCH IS AWESOME *ECHO*

I don't think you should quit just bcause you aren't "famous", You should only quit scratch if you don't think it's fun anymore or if it's against your regional principles 
I think I'll use scratch until year ∞
