I'm making a game called virus (credit to chaticD) and I need some help with the gameplay concepts, I want this game to be simple, but challenging.

so the story is basically you play as a virus, or firewall sofware and you try to defeat the computer or virus. the graphic style will be neon green

Re: virus concept help

You need idea with the gameplay concept, right? Here's my huge list of ideas:

-The game should be turn-based.
-You should have a level, which determines your strength.
-To level up, complete stages. A stage has a initial unit for each team (Viruses/Firewalls), and obstacles such as walls, restricted areas and bug areas.
-When a Virus unit battles a Firewall one, the one with the highest level wins and converts the other to it's team.
-A Virus can infect a Neutral unit to it's team. If the Neutral unit has a lower level than the virus, it's infected. If it has a equal or higher level, it has a small chance of being infected.
-A Firewall can protect a Neutral unit so it can't be infected by a Virus. This shield lasts for some turns. However, this shield can break if it's attacked by a Virus of a higher level than the Firewall that created the shield.
-You can win points, the currency, by beating stages. with them you can increase your stats and use abilities (the abilities can be used by any of your units, but their own stats are what always applies to the abilities). These abilities use up RAM, which recharges every turn and is shared for all of your units.

Nice idea for a game, I'm looking forward to it.  smile

Re: virus concept help

Well from the sprites that were made for you, I got an idea for a tower defence game.

Here's a link if you don't know what I mean: http://towerdefencegames.com/

Here's my idea:
- You are the firewall.
- The enemy is obviously a virus.
- The virus is trying to get to the computer, but is blocked by a path which leads to the computer.
- Along this path you can build turrets which are the firewall.
- There can be different turrets for different things.
- The virus would then send out little viruses to follow the path towards the computer and then infect the computer.
- The firewall turrets then try and destroy these little viruses.
- If a little virus gets to the computer, the computer loses a life. The computer has a certain amount of lives.
- Each time the computer gets infected, it loses some functionality so the turrets would be weakened.
- You last as many levels as you can, and your score increases for each little virus destroyed and each level you complete.

Hope you like my idea  smile
