Surely any label of Scratch ("programming" language) may be interpreted in such a manner that would support your opinion, so you can't actually count that as "proof". There are a lot of notices in the numerous "about Scratch" pages that promote both programming and art.

scratch does have a paint editor,but it's simple and very straight forward. when you compare that to the scripting part, the scripting part is way more complex and elaborate, with variables, lists, sensing and numbers. while art does play a factor,THE SCRIPTS play the major role. Art is more a means to an end (or just a part to make up the whole), rather than art being the end itself. otherwise scratch would have been much more art oriented with barley, if any scripts and a more complex editor
