These questions have been asked so often, I decided to post a general topic about it.
How do I become a...
...Forum Moderator?
The Scratch Team only hires new moderators if they need them, so it's unlikely that anyone will be elected soon. They will e-mail you if they think you would be a good moderator. General criteria:
1. Follow all the Scratch rules (i.e. no swearing, inappropriate content, etc.)
2. Be willing to enforce these rules if needed.
3. Don't use your ability wrongly (e.g. to sticky your own topics)
4. None of the current moderators asked to become one. Also, the Scratch Team prefers older and/or more skilled members.
...Curator?
A new curator is picked every couple weeks, so several members will be chosen. You can ask to become a curator here. General criteria:
1. Follow all the Scratch rules.
2. Don't use your ability wrongly by favoriting your own projects.
3. Choose projects that (you think) demonstrate a creative use of Scratch.
4. As with moderators, the Scratch Team prefers older/more skilled members.
...Scratch Team member?
Join the Scratch development team at MIT. Enough said.
If there is another rank that I forgot, please tell me.

And they don't prefer older members, they prefer skilled members. But it turns out that the skilled members are generally the old ones. ^^"

Well, maybe I'm the exception, the Scratch Team sent me an e-mail.
Then again, the Scratch team did have my e-mail address from my curator days.
