PLEASE READ AT LEAST ONE SECTION OF THIS BEFORE REPLYING!! I'M NO LONGER ACCEPTING REPLYS FROM PEOPLE THAT DISSAGREE

What is ridiculous is the ammount of people quitting on Scratch.

Scratch is an amazing software and site, but it's community is slowly dying away. Many people quit as a publicity stunt. Though some(mainly the popular scratchers) are/might quit, they actually do. Because they get rude comments which after awhile can effect their health, or make them feel really bad. And some(like LongPatrol), have a good reason to quit, have quitted. Lucky for us, they noticed they can't quit, and have came back. Don't let the mean, and rude scratchers make you and others quit. And you know it isn't right to quit. Scratch is a fun, amazing program and site, DON'T LET IT DIE AWAY.

And my opinion about the whole agaisnt cats, anthros, etc.

You don't like it, don't pay attention. Many of us, probbaly 60% or more of us are part of those communities, and like it!

My opinion on them on the front page:
Yes, many of them don't derserve it. For example, just a "forever" animation shouldn't be on the front page. But a longer animation, like "The Warriors Movie" deserves it! It's not as easy as you think, you need to get good voice actors, lip-sync, and smooth animations. Adding good background music, story, and graphics is a bonus. Those derserve being on the front page. I'm use to it, create it, and enjoy(most of) it!

My opinion of the groups/clans/communities:
They are FUN!!!! You can create characters, RPG with them, and develope plot with it. I'll only extend if I get 5 or more people wanting my full explenation.

My opinion on complainers:
Don't complain, the ones that enjoy get ticked off by you too! Yes, Scratch does need more viriety, but I still like what we have. Which is why we have curators, and featured projects. And on my site(link in siggy), we are making our own featured! I'll extend if I get 10 or more people to want it.

Scratch, on average goes up 5 users a day, and down 1.

The protest, is OVER. I have come up with a plan, and at least 2 members of the scratch team know about it.

I do agree with this great solutions and think if we ignore something we don't like (Like Penguinrock said) we will all be fine and there will be a less possibility of anyone quiting scratch.

Thank you, finally....someone that actually understands

EDIT: I have sometthing to add. Because the people are against them, they might post rude comments on there project. And scratch allows users to post art on the site, they work hard on drawing the art to show the community. Saying the project is worthless could offend someone alot.

For your first section: Sure, people can leave, but there are so many more users that are joining. It can seem convincing in your case, but the Scratch Community is as active as ever.

For your second section: I'm not a fan of Anthros and all that stuff, but I don't have much of a problem with it. What I don't like is when someone puts on some terrible scribbles and it hits Top Viewed, but I guess that all these things get on because people like them, right?

AND SCRATCH WASN'T MADE FOR ART! It seems just that because it has a friendly environment, and a pretty good paint editor, all artists go here. I'm thinking INTERACTIVE ART and GAMES. AND INTERACTIVE STORIES. Make your own websites. Or atleast, have all of the ARTISTS collaborate with the PROGRAMMERS and make GAMES! A+P=G. A=1 (they're lame IMO lol) and P=5, it takes math skillz and like me, I used my own personal time to understand cosine and sine 5 years below when I'm supposed to learn it JUST SO I COULD HELP ENTERTAIN OTHER SCRATCHERS. And G=6, it takes 6 out of every 5 people to make one good game.

I agree with the people quitting as publicity stunts, but as Lucario pointed out, Scratch wasn't really made for art. But I do have some few art projects uploaded, so I can't completely disagree. And I already ignore the anthro community.

Scratch is made for almost everything you can program (including interactive art). But, today we're experiencing the flood of fan-art, which sometimes is not so good to get on the front page. Naturally, there's no real control of the Top Loved and Top Viewed. And, of course, the fan-art projects won't get featured more than twice a year (if they will anyway). The most annoying thing is - most of the community thinks that this is going too far. I don't feel offended or suicidal (I used to in illusionist's protest, hehe) seeing them, but... they're BORING THE CRUD OUT OF ME (and most of community too, I think). There are special places for the fan-art, like the deviantart.com or somewhere else.... But Scratch community likes games, not those cats stuff!

...and the people who deserve front page, scratch is about programming (you notice that it's called a programming language) people like maskedstar have no reason to quit, yet people like maskedstar say that if we keep posting mean comments she will die from crohns. oh yeah? I have a friend with crohns disease and guess what? he doesn't die every time someone says mean stuff to him.
he can't eat certain foods and has to take medicine, he's been in my class for 4 years! It sounds like they're taking advantage of they're situation.

and making a game is harder than YOU think. You have to get the graphics code it, it can very easily take over a month and often does
