Brambleheart walked in then, carrying Ashstripe . He placed in in eagleclan camp. "I found a fox attacking him. I tried to save him, but it was too late." he said, and left without another word. Riverflow stared at Ashstripes body in horror. "Well then." Wolfstar said, gulping, trying to keep the sadness out of his voice. "On this tradgic occasion, a new deputy must be chosen." Wolfstar said, and nodded. "I say this over the body of Ashstar so he may hear and approve my choice. Scythclaw will be the next deputy of Eagleclan."

It tooks Scytheclaw several moments to process that he was deputy. The grief for his fellow warrior slowed his thought process. He looked up, gulped, and nodded. "I will do my best to serve the clan as deputy," he promised. He looked at Ashstripe, and meowed soflty,"I will do my best as deputy, for you, Ashstripe."

Riverflow was guarding camp that night. Suddenly, a she smelled a cat. "Whose there?" she called out, her claws unsheathing. "Relax, Riverflow. Its me, Wolfstar." Wolfstar said, walking out from behind a bush. "I'm here to relive you." he said. "Thanks Wolfstar, but the warrior code says that a new warrior must keep vigil on the night of his/her ceremony." Riverflow said. "It also says that you should do whatever your leader says NOW MOVE!" Wolfstar snarled. Riverflow ran off, her tail between her legs, as the gray leader watched her go
