One idea to reduce lag: Let Scratch automatically use the default style of the computer, and then the file won't use so much memory.
For example: Windows users would view the Scratch program, particularly the Import/Save/Open toolbars, with the regular Explorer style. This would help lag in several other ways, because you could turn off thumbnails.

Good idea, it would especially save time for me because I have to occasionally use this acient compaq that has about half the speed of a HP meadia center i.e. incredibly slow.
